Shrubs remain the most popular plants in today’s residential landscape plantings. They are used in foundation plantings, walkway and patio plantings, pool plantings and more! They’re popularity is one reason we stock over 300 different shrubs in our two wholesale locations. The Encyclopedia Britannical defines shrubs as any woody plant that has several stems, none dominant, and is usually less than 3 m (10 feet) tall. Others use 12″ as the maximum height to be called a shrub and 12 feet is what we use on this web site. Most broadly shrubs are classified as deciduous (drop all their leaves) evergreen, and semi-evergreen (lose some but not all leaves). A further breakdown will divide evergreens as broadleaf (holly, Rhododendron, Bowood, or narrow leaf (pine, spruce, Junipers). We have a deep respect and love for plants at L.P.
