At L.P.Statile we strive to stock a robust selection of ground covers. Ground covers can enhance a landscape in many ways. They can help control soil and mulch erosion, they can fill small spaces that are too small for a shrubs, they can provide a carpet of green, and they can make bids more competitive by using a lower cost plant to fill a space. We carry as many as 8 different ground covers during the year (this does not include a wide variety of junipers and other plants we sell that are low growing).

AJUGA reptans 4-12” Bugle Weed
Low, spreading, herbaceous groundcover. Interesting foliage, purple flowers in late spring or summer. Best in part shade.
DELOSPERMA cooperi 2-3” Ice Plant
Unique ground cover best known for bright purple flowers. Succulent leaves make this drough tolerant.
HEDERA helix 6-12” English Ivy
Rapidly growing, very adaptable evergreen ground cover. Tolerates full sun to heavy shade – best in part shade. Glossy leaves. Will grow up trees and structures. Regular pruning can control growth.

Purple flowers in summer above dark green foliage.
‘variegata’ 12-18” Varigated Lily Turf
Grass-like leaves, green with white to golden stripes. Purple flowers in summer. Takes sun.
PACHYSANDRA terminalis 6-12” Japanese Spurge
Evergreen ground cover with glossy leaves, Inconspicuous white flower in early spring. Tolerates deep shade. Exposure to full sun, and wind (particularly winter winds) can batter the foliage.

Beautiful dense, compact ground cover best known for abundant bright spring flowers, available in multiple flower colors.
