Announcing The Retirement Of Jim Reddington
Our Purchasing and Production Manager

It is with mixed emotions that we announce our longest tenured employee Jim Reddington is retiring at the end of the year.  It is nearly impossible to sum up his achievements over his 38 years of dedicated service.

Jim was approached by Lenny Statile in 1983 while he was working at a garden center, deep into a repair of a tractor.  He agreed to an interview and a new manager of L.P. Statile Inc. was born.  Jim thrived in his position, eventually becoming our purchasing manager.  In this role Jim developed relationships with growers throughout the country. His commitment to buying high quality nursery stock defines what we sell today. He also cultivated the breadth of our product line - through the year we carry as many as 750+ different plants. Jim was at the forefront of several buying and shipping trends and is widely respected in the industry for his depth of plant knowledge. He transformed many techniques regarding how to get those plants to each of our nurseries and then out to our customers.

In the early 2000’s Jim relocated to take over management of our Colts Neck Facility.  He continued his role as purchasing manager for L.P. Statile and began a new role of Production Manager for Statile Nurseries.  He “grew” our production division exponentially over the last 20 years.

Jim was a model employee.  He never got frazzled, was always a team player and could always be counted on.  He will always be remembered as hardworking, committed, and dependable. You cannot write the story of L.P. Statile and Statile Nurseries without Jim being a central part of it.

Please join us in thanking Jim for his 38 years of commitment and exemplary service.  We wish Jim nothing but the best and a very happy, rewarding retirement.
