LP Statile General Manager Position - Springfield Yard

LP Statile is a two location wholesale-only nursery with locations in Springfield and Colts Neck New Jersey. We are seeking a general manager for our Springfield location. LP Statile is a family owned business celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2022. We are well known for the depth, breadth and quality of our product selection. We sell over 700 different types of plants to over 1,800 contractors through the year.

  • The Springfield General Manager reports to the President of LP Statile.

Specific Responsibilities

Personnel

  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate and oversee the Sales Department, Yard Supervisor and all yard employees.
  • Monitor and maintain labor budget and suggest changes if needed.
  • Create a positive work environment with high employee morale.
  • Ability to interact effectively with Spanish speaking employees and customers is a real asset.

Customers

  • There is daily interaction with customers.
  • Assist in meeting the variety of daily customer needs.
  • Create and manage quotes if Sales Department is too busy.

Inventory

  • Maintain optimal yard inventory in conjunction with Sales and Purchasing Departments.
  • Maintain optimal plant health.
  • Prepare daily/weekly reports of inventory needs.
  • Help coordinate deliveries into and out of nursery in conjunction with Sales Department.
  • Manage hardgood and bulk product inventory levels for Springfield.
  • In coordination with Purchasing Manager and Sales Department order plants directly.

Management Team

  • Attend management meetings.
  • Provide input on enhancing daily operations.
  • Institute company-wide practices and policies with your team.

Sales & Marketing

  • Act as company ambassador and sales representative to attract new customers.
  • Attend trade shows.
  • Suggest web site and social media subjects and posts.

Equipment/Trucks

  • Manage maintenance schedule for all equipment and trucks.
  • Manage driver's schedule in conjunction with Sales and Purchasing Departments.
  • Coordinate repairs of down equipment.
  • Research replacements for old equipment and make recommendations to ownership.

Skills

  • Plant knowledge is strongly preferred.
  • Proven management experience.
  • Spanish speaking is a real asset.
  • Microsoft Excel/Word competency.

Requirements

  • Must work Saturday’s in-season.

 


LP Statile Lead Internal Sales - Springfield

LP Statile is a two location wholesale-only nursery with locations in Springfield and Colts Neck New Jersey. We are seeking a Lead Internal Salesperson for our Springfield location. LP Statile is a family owned business celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2022. We are well known for the depth, breadth and quality of our product selection. We sell over 700 different types of plants to over 1,800 contractors through the year.

  • The Springfield Lead Internal Salesperson reports to the General Manager of LP Statile’s Springfield yard.

Objective

The Lead Internal Salesperson in Springfield will capture any and all sales opportunities through contact by phone, fax, email, text, and face-to-face dialog. The salesperson will pursue all potential sales using follow up techniques and accurate tracking methods to achieve maximum order success.

Specific Responsibilities

Phone Contact

Field incoming phone calls for availability and pricing. Verify that plant material is available for pickup or delivery and have it tagged as needed. Convey needed plant material, if unavailable, to the Purchasing Manager or General Manager. Offer plant substitutions in all situations where items are currently unavailable.

Fax Reply

Respond to incoming fax requests for availability and pricing within the same business day. Verify that plant material is available in the yard for pickup or delivery and have it tagged as needed. Convey needed plant material, if unavailable, to the Purchasing Manager or General Manager.

Email Reply

Verify that plant material is available in the yard for pickup or delivery and have it tagged as needed. Convey needed plant material, if unavailable, to the Purchasing Manager or General Manager.

Order Assist

Communicate with sales department any order you receive to coordinate processing of order. Assist outside sales with customer service and other tasks as needed.

Cold Call Contacting

Contact leads provided by our marketing consultant to investigate possible lists of plant material needed for upcoming jobs. Gather various data about the contact through conversational fact finding such as the nature of their business, approximate annual sales and annual plant purchases, names of key personnel and how we may be of assistance in the future if not immediately.

Yard Assistance

Assist in any areas needed in the yard. Tasks could include tagging, labeling, pruning, loading, unloading and general customer assistance

Skills

  • Strong plant knowledge is preferred.
  • Spanish speaking is a real asset.
  • Microsoft Excel/Word competency.
